Cold Beer And Great Wings to be Found @ OC’s Fat Boy BBQ

Every Sunday, my buddy and I like to do what a lot of other guys do: watch football, drink beer and  harass any Jet fans we find (GO BILLS).  Naturally, we can hang at his place but not only is there no one to ridicule other than us, but men need to eat copious amounts of chicken, meat and pork products as well.  So last year, we started following the Wing Challenge competition from syracuse.com which was met with fantastic results for us.  Seeing as how I try to avoid repetition (don’t workout more than once a month, etc.), we have set our sights on new targets.  Which has led us to OC’s Fat Boy BBQ.

Located on Salina St. in Little Italy, OC’s is in the corner of the last building before the 81 bridge heading towards downtown.  To our pleasure, they have recently opened up on Sundays for football and beer drinking action.  Oh yeah and wings, too.  They have a good sized menu (available on their website) and everything comes in large proportions.  I went with a recommendation and tried their Fat Boy Honey BBQ (you’ll see that there is a Fat Boy theme going here) and split some loaded fries with my friend.  The wings were excellent – they may not have been the biggest I’ve ever had, but only Andre the Giant would complain that they are too small.  The sauce was great and not overwhelming.  I did not go with the ever increasing in popularity char grilled option, but their standard was more than good enough for me.

Sometimes, all you need in a football watching venue is a seat and someone to serve you alcohol.  OC’s has this covered very well, with the added bonus of having the owner (only name I heard him called was Big Guy) talk shit to you if you’re not careful, but only in good fun for those who are sensitive.  I will definitely be heading back for the cold beer and great wings to be found at OC’s Fat Boy BBQ.  In addition, they have a good selection of live music (including my cousin who plays there) and a welcoming atmosphere, where you’ll get a personal and friendly greeting from the Big Guy anytime you walk in.

OC’s Fat Boy BBQ is located at 317 North Salina St. in Little Italy.  Their hours of operation, menu and directions can be found on their website.
